The Korean -American Thanksgiving Day Festival of New Jersey celebrates its eighth year in 2009.
The festival was first launched in 2002 by The Korean -American Association of New Jersey, and
ever since, MKTV has organized and hosted the Youth Festival and the Singing Contest as the
highlights of this magnificent 2 -day event.

The main goal of the Thanksgiving Day Festival is to celebrate the traditional Korean holiday
called Chusok, which is the equivalent of the American holiday of Thanksgiving. The Festival not
only promotes the South Korean culture and heritage, but also brings together people within the
Korean -American community together by actively involving the individuals and families as part of
this celebration.

The first festival that was held on Sunday, September 22 nd, 2002 at Overpeck Park in Palisades
Park, New Jersey, was a huge success with an attendance estimated by the Bergen County Police
Department to be approximately 25,000 people.

The second festival was held on Sunday, September 14th, 2003, at the larger Overpeck Park in Leonia,
New Jersey. This festival was an even greater success, with an estimated crowd of 60,000
attendees throughout the day, as reported by The Korea Times newspaper.

MKTV is proud to present our sixth annual Youth Festival and MKTV¡¯s Singing Contest , as part of
the Thanksgiving Day Festival in New Jersey. The Youth Festival is a popular event for young
adults showcasing talented rising musicians and amazing break dancers. This year, the festival will
again continue for two days, on October 13th and 14th at Overpeck Park in Leonia, New Jersey.
