About MKTV

MKTV (Ch. 73, Ch. 532, & Ch. 1152) was established in 1993. MKTV has now become one of the largest and leading Korean-language television broadcasters on the East Coast, covering New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and even parts of Pennsylvania. MKTV not only imports the best of Korean television programs, but also creates and promotes its own programs, supports national and local community events, and works together with Time Warner Cable and Cablevision in marketing their international programming.
Our vision is to reach, communicate with, represent, and serve a robust audience - of both viewers and advertisers - inclusive of Korean Americans, Asian Americans, and Asians in America. Many have cultural preferences for accessing news, entertainment, and information in-language. A growing number of Americans of Korean and other Asian descent also feel fully at home here in the United States and are comfortable with English, both at home and at work. Many are college educated here in the United States; many are professionals. To reach, communicate with, represent, and serve the widest possible, most robust audience and greatest number of viewers, including those of non-Korean descent, MKTV broadcasts in both Korean and English and makes use of sub-titles.

MKTV broadcasts on three channels 24/7 (Time Warner Cable 532, Cablevision 1152, Time Warner Cable 73) in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut/Pennsylvania metropolitan area. The current viewership is primarily Asian American, including Korean Americans (59.4%, 2009) as well as other Asians (36.8%, 2009). Korean dramas, K-Pop, and hit variety shows are a big draw.

With high quality news (international, national, local), entertainment, home shopping, and programming geared towards various demographics (including language-preference, age, professional status, etc.), MKTV provides companies, and those so wishing, an effective platform of communication with and advertising to a robust viewership inclusive of Korean Americans, Asian Americans and Asians in America.
